Project progress:
We started Day 1 with introductory sessions. The aim of the activity was to get to know the other participants better. In the second part of the day, we talked about our expectations of the program, what we bring to it, and our concerns about it. Finally, we discussed the skills we acquire during the project, which are key to completing the Youthpass certificate.
On the second day, the workshops focused on an introduction to social media and how to use it to improve your career. We started with an exercise comparing our online and real-life profiles to realize the difference between the two. We then analyzed our search history to define a character’s personality and understand what a digital footprint is. We also discussed the good and bad sides of the internet and learned how to use it consciously so that it is helpful and not harmful to us. We listed common problems that we may encounter as social media users (e.g., cyberbullying, identity theft, online fraud). Finally, in groups, we created professional profiles of specific people using various applications and websites to learn how to use social media to improve our careers.
On the third day, the training focused on online profile image. We began the workshop with a discussion about online reputation, including the factors that influence it. Then, to delve deeper into the topic, we took part in an acting game where our role was to present communication on various platforms. We also presented examples of online images and based on them we had a group discussion. Next, each nationality presented the platforms they typically use on the Internet. Then we had the opportunity to go on a tour of the town where our training is taking place. At the end, we organized a cultural evening, which was an opportunity to establish international relationships and learn more about other cultures.
On this day, we learned about tools that are useful for verifying the accuracy of information found on the Internet. During the classes, we were tasked with testing them in practice. During the afternoon sessions, we talked about the problems and difficulties in the labor market that young people face in different countries.
During our day off, we decided to go to Tarragona, where we visited the historic part of the city and strolled through its charming streets. We also paid a visit to the beach.
We started the day with sightseeing. The tour, which allowed us to see Lleida from different perspectives, took three hours. Then, we met in the conference room and discussed the next task, which was to talk to the city’s residents. What an adventure it was! For some, it was a great Spanish lesson, for others, a good opportunity to step out of their comfort zone. We talked to the locals about the job market and the barriers young people face.
We started the day by defining what Youthpass is and what opportunities this certificate gives us. Then we wrote CVs that will help us in the job search process. Then it was time for a “Shark Tank”-style competition, in which groups competed against each other by presenting the ideal CV and profile of a potential future employee of the company. The next task was to prepare posts for our private social media accounts about the time we spent in Lleida. During the next session, we prepared videos/clips promoting Erasmus+ programs, both about what we learned and what we did in our free time. We ended the day by handing out certificates of participation in the training course to the participants.
