Project progress:

The first day of the exchange, as usual, focused on an ice-breaking session. This gave the young people from different countries a chance to get to know each other better and integrate, so they could work more fruitfully in the following days. There was also a discussion of what the Erasmus+ program is all about, as well as the European Solidarity Corps, or Youthpass.

The following days were filled with hard work during numerous workshops, discussions, group work and other activities. Young people explored the topic of migration and related aspects such as tolerance, respect, acceptance and diversity each day. There were numerous discussions on migration and refugees, allowing participants to learn the perspective of peers from other countries. The workshop also touched on migration policy and, of course, how it presents itself in different countries. But the project is not only about hard work, the youngsters also had the opportunity to visit the charming city of Khania and get to know their cultures better during intercultural evenings.

An interesting activity worth noting was interviewing residents. The topic of the interviews was, of course, migration and its reception by residents of different genders, ages and lifestyles. This allowed participants to draw some conclusions and see people’s opinions in practice.

Summary:

Certainly, the project has influenced the awareness of young people on the topic of migration. They have increased their knowledge, as well as gained experience through various interesting activities. It can be said with full confidence that projects such as “EduPAST” have a positive impact on the formation of an informed and educated society. The project achieved its goals, and the youngsters gained memories for life.

Miłosz Twardowski

“I thought I knew a lot about migrants and refugees, it turned out that YE ‘EduPast’, allowed me to broaden my horizons widely. In addition, I met great people while honing my English and getting to know new places I had not discovered before.”
